Ladysmith is home to many local artists and artisans who sell their creations in local galleries and from their own studios. You can pick up the Ladysmith Artists and Artisans tour brochure from the Chamber of Commerce on First Avenue. You can also enjoy browsing the local art scene at the Waterfront Arts Centre, just a short walk from Transfer Beach. And if you’re here in August, don’t miss the "Arts on the Avenue" event, when local artists display and sell their art on First Avenue.

Our area offers many options for theatre lovers. Check out Lady Smith's Little Theatre for unique and award-winning community performances. The Chemainus Theatre and Port Theatre in Nanaimo are both within a 20-minute drive, and offer a variety of shows throughout the year.

Local restaurants provide all sorts of great musical entertainment on weekends. And in the summer, don't miss the Ladysmith Downtown Business Association's "Thursday Night Live" on First Avenue, as well as the free concerts at the Transfer Beach amphitheatre on Saturday nights.
